That Moment, That Pause
There is a moment, a pause, when an in breath changes and becomes an out breath. We have taken in that which is around us, there is a shift, and we offer out that which is within us. A process so automatic that it is often without thought, yet it is the bounds of our lives. But that moment, that pause, that shift, what happens there? It is not that we are taking in the good and move to expelling the bad, for both are necessary. In that moment there is an exchange. In that pause we are changed and we change. We have drawn in what we need, we shift, and we give what we have, what we are. That moment, that pause, that is the space between. It requires no effort, no decision, no concentration. It is life. And it is beautiful.
